As core models in the commercial vehicle market, Dongfeng Tianlong (heavy-duty truck) and Dongfeng Tianjin (medium-duty truck) are widely used in logistics transportation, engineering operations and other fields due to their reliable performance. During long-term high-intensity use, inevitable component wear and tear will occur in the four core systems of the vehicle: engine, cab, chassis and electrical system. Understanding the types and characteristics of various vulnerable parts is of great significance for timely maintenance, reducing operating costs and ensuring driving safety. 1. Engine System Vulnerable Parts

As the "heart" of the truck, the engine is the system with the most concentrated vulnerable parts. The engines of Dongfeng Tianlong and Tianjin trucks, including Cummins ISD/ISZ/DDi series and Renault dCi series, have high versatility in vulnerable parts. Filter parts are high-frequency consumables and the most frequently replaced components in daily maintenance, including oil filter, fuel filter (including primary filter and secondary filter), fuel water separator, air filter, urea filter and hydraulic oil filter. These parts directly affect the air intake, fuel supply and lubrication effect of the engine. If not replaced for a long time, they are likely to cause increased engine wear, reduced power and even failures.

Sealing and gasket parts are also important components of engine vulnerable parts, including cylinder head gasket, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, crankshaft oil seal, camshaft oil seal, valve oil seal, injector copper sleeve and various O-rings. These parts are responsible for the sealing of various engine components. Once aged or damaged, oil leakage, gas leakage and other problems will occur, affecting the normal operation of the engine. In the intake and exhaust and cooling system, turbocharger, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, thermostat, water pump and water pump repair kit, fan clutch, fan belt, alternator belt, belt tensioner, idler pulley, water hose and heater core are also prone to wear and tear. These components have high precision requirements and are prone to aging, blockage or failure after long-term use, leading to increased fuel consumption and unqualified exhaust emissions. In addition, internal moving parts of the engine, such as pistons, piston rings, connecting rod bearings, main bearings, valves, valve seats, timing gears and timing chains, will also wear under long-term high-intensity operation and need regular inspection and replacement.

2. Cab System Vulnerable Parts

As the operating and resting space for drivers, the vulnerable parts of the cab are mainly concentrated in exterior covering parts, door lock control parts, tilting system and air conditioning interior parts. The cab vulnerable parts of Dongfeng Tianlong (Flagship/KL/VL series) and Dongfeng Tianjin (KR/VR series) have both versatility and certain differences. Among the exterior covering parts, front cover, front grille, bumper, headlight, taillight, turn signal light, rearview mirror assembly, wiper arm & wiper blade, door glass, door seal strip, sun visor and wind deflector are exposed to the external environment for a long time, and are prone to damage, aging, cracking and other problems due to collision, sun and rain. It is worth noting that as a heavy-duty truck, the vulnerability of the cab tilting system of Dongfeng Tianlong is much higher than that of Dongfeng Tianjin medium-duty truck, mainly including cab tilting cylinder, tilting pump, tilting bracket, tilting bushing and shock absorption rubber pad. These parts bear the tilting function of the cab and are prone to leakage and wear under long-term force. If a fault occurs, the cab cannot be tilted normally, affecting maintenance efficiency.

In air conditioning and interior parts, air conditioning compressor, cabin air filter, evaporator, condenser, blower motor, heater core, seat airbag, seat slide rail and window regulator are prone to wear and tear. The cabin air filter needs to be replaced regularly to ensure the air quality in the car. The walking brake system is the most worn subsystem, and the main vulnerable parts include brake pad / brake shoe, brake drum, brake disc, brake caliper, master brake cylinder, brake hose, air brake pipe, air dryer, air dryer filter, relay valve, quick release valve, brake spring and brake camshaft. The vulnerable parts of the transmission system mainly include clutch pressure plate, clutch disc, release bearing, gearbox oil seal, drive shaft, drive shaft universal joint, drive shaft hanger bushing, differential gear and half shaft. The clutch pressure plate and clutch disc are prone to wear during frequent gear shifting, leading to clutch slipping and incomplete separation; the drive shaft, universal joint and hanger bushing are prone to wear and loosening during long-term high-speed operation, resulting in abnormal noise; wear of gearbox oil seal and half shaft oil seal will cause lubricating oil leakage, affecting the normal operation of the transmission system.

In the steering system, steering gear, tie rod, drag link, tie rod end / ball joint, power steering pump and power steering reservoir are prone to wear and tear. Ball joints, tie rods and drag links are the core transmission components of the steering system. After wear, they will lead to increased steering clearance, inaccurate steering and even steering failure; power steering pump failure will lead to heavy steering, affecting driving controllability and requiring timely maintenance and replacement.

4. Electrical System Vulnerable Parts

The electrical system is the "nerve" of the truck, responsible for the start-up, lighting, signal transmission and other functions of the vehicle. Most of its components are electronic components, which are prone to aging and failure after long-term use and have a high replacement frequency. The main vulnerable parts include alternator, starter motor, battery, ignition switch, relay, fuse, wiring harness, light harness, horn, reverse buzzer, speed sensor, urea level & temperature sensor, electromagnetic clutch, cab wiring harness connector plug and emergency switch.

Alternator and starter motor are the core components for vehicle start-up and power supply. After long-term use, they are prone to faults such as coil burnout and bearing wear, leading to the vehicle's failure to start normally; the service life of the battery is limited and usually needs to be replaced regularly. If not maintained properly, it will accelerate aging, resulting in power loss, inability to store electricity and other problems; fuses and relays are prone to damage due to circuit overload and short circuit, and need to be replaced in time to ensure normal circuit operation; wiring harnesses and wiring harness connectors are prone to aging, loosening and poor contact after long-term use, leading to lighting failure, signal interruption and other problems; various sensors (speed sensor, urea level & temperature sensor, etc.) are prone to failure, affecting the vehicle's parameter monitoring and normal operation.

5. Differences in Vulnerable Parts Between Dongfeng Tianlong and Tianjin Trucks

Although there is high versatility in the vulnerable parts of the four systems of Dongfeng Tianlong and Tianjin trucks, due to the different positioning of the two models (Tianlong is a 6x4/8x4 heavy-duty truck, and Tianjin is a 4x2 medium-duty truck), there are obvious differences in their vulnerable parts. As a heavy-duty truck, Dongfeng Tianlong carries heavy loads and high-intensity operations for a long time.
